Saints to spend less than half of Lallana transfer fee on pacy wideman, who has a much more impressive track record.
Southampton have agreed an £8.7m fee with Twente for Serbia international Dusan Tadic, according to the Daily Mail.
The Saints are in desperate need of reinforcements, having sold three of their star Englishman this summer.
Striker Rickie Lambert, left-back Luke Shaw and versatile midfielder Adam Lallana, 26, have all departed St Mary’s, with Southampton pocketing more than £50m from the sales.
Tadic, 25, is seen as a replacement for Lallana, who completed a £25m move to Anfield on Tuesday.
A fee of under £10m for Tadic looks like excellent value, considering he scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists in 33 Eredivisie games last season.
Lallana scored nine goals and provided six assists in 38 Premier League appearances for Southampton last term.
Having made his debut in 2008, Tadic has been capped 25 times by Serbia at senior international level, scoring six times.
Lallana has nine England caps to his name, but he has yet to score for the Three Lions.
