Southampton are apparently confident of sealing a deal for Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula as they seek a replacement for Manchester United-bound Morgan Schneiderlin.
Schneiderlin is expected to complete a £25m transfer to Old Trafford in the coming days, with SkyBet now pricing him as short as 1/12 to move to the Red Devils in this transfer window.

The Saints are now exploring players to fill the void which will be left by the Frenchman, and have been credited with an interest in Yohan Cabaye, Feyenoord’s Jordy Clasie and Lille star Idrissa Gueye.
But The Mirror understands that £15m-rated Imbula, who has previously been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, is top of Ronald Koeman’s shortlist and that the Saints are optimistic of winning the race for his signature.
Spurs are believed to have had a £6m bid rejected for the tough-tackling Frenchman, who has made 71 appearances for Marseille since joining from Guingamp in 2013.
