Dane has been a massive flop for the Gunners.
Liga outfit Malaga have emerged as the new favourites to sign misfiring Arsenal front man Nicklas Bendtner this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The unwanted Denmark international has been at the Emirates for the past six seasons now, having originally joined the north London club in the summer of 2004.
However, it is fair to say that in the intervening eight-year period the lanky attacker has found it desperately hard to win a regular starting berth up front for the Gunners, with head coach Arsene Wenger finally losing patience with the 25-year-old two years ago when he loaned the player to Sunderland for the entire 2011-12 campaign.
But Bendtner’s form in front of goal did not improve much at the Stadium of Light, where the Dane netted just the eight goals in his 30 appearances in all competitions for the north-east giants.
And after another failed campaign on loan with Serie A champions Juventus last season, Bendtner has now been deemed surplus to requirements by Wenger, with Spanish high-flyers Malga in line to rescue him from his misery in the English capital.
