Manchester United do not have much time left to make the splash signing manager Louis van Gaal wants to see his team make.
The Red Devils are still interested in signing Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale, according to The Metro.
Spanish pundit Guillem Balague reported on the Red Devils’ apparent interest in the £85m superstar.
He also denied that Man United have made any bids for Barcelona superstar Neymar or Real Madrid’s world-class forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
“This summer Manchester United were willing to pay a huge amount for Bale but learnt quickly he was not going anywhere,” Balague told Sky Sports.
“They have not bid for Cristiano (even though they have always said they have the finances for it) or Neymar. Fascinating stuff what is behind the Neymar rumors.”
Balague admitted that Man United are unlikely to sign Bale, as Real Madrid are extremely reluctant to sell him.
However, the Welsh international has been maligned at times by Real Madrid fans for not playing to his full potential.
He still proved to be a solid scorer throughout his “subpar” season as he came up with 17 goals.
I could be virtually impossible for Real Madrid to resist an offer close to £100m, which Man United will be required to make to have any chance at landing Bale.
