Manchester City and Real Madrid have each submitted transfer bids to sign Malaga CF star Isco.
Malaga CF starlet Isco has confirmed that both Manchester City and Real Madrid have submitted transfer bids for him, according to Spanish publication AS.
The 21 year-old shone for his club last season in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, scoring nine times in 36 appearances domestically, with three goals and three assists in his eight games in European football’s premier club competition.
In an extensive interview with AS, Isco was asked whether it was indeed Man City and Real MAdrid that had bid to sign him.
“Specifically interest from Madrid and City? Well, yes, there are two proposals on the table,” said the Spain Under-21 international.
“I hope to decide soon because I have a contract with Malaga.
“It is clear that both Manchester City and Real Madrid are great clubs. I want this to end as well as possible for me and for Malaga.
“Are the two offers real? They are on the table, yes.”
With former boss Manuel Pellegrini having recently moved from Malaga to take charge at the Etihad Stadium, there have been reports that the Chilean manager had tried to convince his former charge to follow him to Manchester City, but Isco denied that was the case.
“No I have not talked with him,” said Isco.
“I heard of the news of his move on the internet, when it happened, but he did not call me.
“He is a great coach and I hope he does well in England. He has done an impressive job with Malaga as he has done with previous clubs and surely he will do so there too.
“Will his presence affect my decision? It is true that I already know Pellegrini, I know how he works and he has been instrumental in my career so far, in the two years I have been with him at Malaga.
“It’s a plus that we have worked together before, but nothing is definitive.”
Along with the likes of Mario Goetze, set to move from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich as soon as the transfer window opens, Isco is considered one of the best young players in the world.
If Manchester City can beat Real Madrid to his signature, they will have a very fine talent indeed.
