Tottenham are willing to take the risk of signing £5 million rated injury-prone Manchester City right-back Micah Richards, reports the Daily Star.
Spurs’ new boss Mauricio Pochettino has prioritized strengthening his defence before the start of the new season, and Richards could be a very good option.
Besides the risk with Richards’ injury problems, the 25-year old is still young and very highly rated in the Premier League. He is also versatile enough to play at right-back as well as at centre-back, and could thus be the right kind of signing for the North Londoners.
However, Spurs will find it far from easy to sign the England international as they face stiff competition from the likes of Everton, Liverpool and Southampton for the defender.
Reports though suggest that Richards might favour a switch to White Hart Lane under Mauricio Pochettino, who has reportedly promised Richards regular game time at the club.
