Indian bowler Sreesanth speaks out against Harbhajan Singh’s slap on him in 2008.
Five years on from the incident, India and Rajasthan Royals bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth has used Twitter for an outburst about the slap on him by Harbhajan Singh.
Harbhajan slapped his Indian teammate during the standard post-match handshakes between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab in the debut season of the IPL in 2008.
The bowlers play alongside each other internationally, but they were on opposite sides that day and although TV cameras didn’t catch the incident Sreesanth was seen in tears shortly after it happened.
Harbhajan was banned for the rest of the 2008 tournament and IPL chairman Lalit Modi said at the time that the attack was “totally unprovoked.”
The Rajasthan bowler has remained silent about the incident for five years, until deciding to tweet about it following a similar bust-up between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders’ captains Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir on Thursday.
Sreesanth described Harbhajan as having “lost it” and continued to tweet that the IPL knew the truth and yet decided to do nothing about it.
He had no control over his anger..,Nd one more thing I wanna clear..he (nanavati sir) knows the truth and the full ipl..he had lost it

Despite his attacker’s ban from the first edition of the Twenty20 tournament, the Royals player believed he had been portrayed in a bad light and that too many people were making light of his emotional response to the slap.
All blamed me for getting emotional ..??c mon who doesn’tget emotional whn u know the person who u worship is a backstabbing person Nd ..

Sreesanth has certainly made some strong accusations about both Harbhajan and the IPL, which he is currently involved in with Rajasthan and it remains to be seen what both parties’ response will be.
