Fawad Alam takes charge for Pakistan with the bat with a crucial innings.
A stunning century from Fawad Alam has powered Pakistan to a respectable total of 260 against Sri Lanka in the 2014 final for the Asia Cup.
Alam came in to bat with his side in real trouble at 3-18, with Lasith Malinga the destroyer with the new ball in dismissing Sharjeel Khan (8), Ahmed Shehzad (5) and Mohammad Hafeez (3) in quick succession.
From there, Alam and Misbah-ul-Haq built a stunning partnership of 122 for the fourth wicket, with ul-Haq being sent back to the stands for 65 off 98 balls.
Alam continued on and passed triple figures, carrying his bat through the rest of the innings to remain unbeaten on 114 from 134 balls with eight boundaries and three sixes.
Malinga was the star for Sri Lanka with the ball claiming an excellent 5-56 off his 10 overs, as Sri Lanka began well to chase down the total set for them, putting on 43 runs in less than eight overs.
