Italian international linked with late move to Manchester.
AC Milan starlet Stephan El Shaarawy has insisted that no matter what the media reports, he wants to stay at the club.
The 20-year-old was linked with an exit from San Siro earlier this summer, but after holding a meeting with vice-president Adriano Galliani it was decided that he would remain with the Rossoneri.
However, after being dropped for the win over Cagliari on Sunday night, speculation resurfaced that Manchester City would return with a significant offer on deadline day, worth around €25m.
The Italian media suggested that the move was possible given the imminent arrival of Kaka, combined with the signing of Alessandro Matri earlier this week.
With competition for places increasing, El Shaarawy will be desperate to continue to play first-team football, and despite reports to the contrary, he intends to do so with Milan.
“I’ve decided to stay at Milan,” he told Sport Mediaset according to Football Italia.
“I have made a precise decision and, no matter what offer arrives, I want to stay at Milan.”
The talented youngster was speaking to journalists in Florence where he has arrived to join up with the national squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
He also revealed that he has no issues with coach Massimiliano Allegri, or his decision to drop him on Sunday, while the arrival of Kaka has left many at the club excited at the prospect of linking up with him in training and on the pitch.
“He is my idol!” El Shaarawy noted with a smile, and having scored 18 goals in 61 league games for the Rossoneri, he will hope that he gets to share regular playing time alongside his idol for the club.
