North London club remain favourites to land the holding midfield player though.
Tottenham Hotspur have still to lodge an official bid for in-demand Corinthians midfield player Paulinho according to the player himself, reports Goal.com.
The highly skilful Brazil international has been linked with a whole host of club from across the Continent of late, with the likes of Inter Milan, Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain all also said to be keen on bringing the 24-year-old to Europe when the summer transfer window opens at the start of next month.
However, it is understood that it is the north London club who are in the driving seat to sign the holding midfield player, who has netted 34 goals in his 167 appearances for his Brazilian club since making his debut for the Sao Paulo giants in 2010.
But as yet Spurs have still to make an offer for Paulinho, who has a buyout clause of 20 million euros in his contract, with the player telling Lancenet: “I am following what’s happening, but there is nothing.
“He is there [in England] and if there is something, I am sure he will tell me.”
