FT: Stoke City 2-2 Swansea City
Ibrahim Afellay should have sent Stoke City on their way to a fifth win in seven Premier League games on Saturday when he scored this opener against Swansea City.
But it didn’t work out that way…
Afellay has now scored two league goals this year – that’s one more that he managed during his entire La Liga career with Barcelona.
The Dutchman is not known for his heading ability, but he used his lid to divert a Marko Arnautovic cross into the net on 13 minutes at the Britannia Stadium.
Fellow ex-Barca man Bojan Krkic made it 2-0 to the Potters on 53 minutes, before Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back for the Swans midway through the second half.
Swansea then levelled the scores with 11 minutes to go, when Alberto Paloschi bagged his second in three away games.
Stoke and Swansea are now eighth and 15th respectively.
The Swans look safe as they sit 10 points clear of Sunderland, who occupy the final relegation place.
