Wilson is optimistic the Potters can cause an upset at the Emirates.
After winning three successive matches in the Premier League following a shock opening day defeat to Aston Villa, Arsenal are repairing to face Stoke City at the weekend.
Stoke themselves have been in great form, as many tipped the Potters to be relegation candidates but the side have in fact secured seven points from a possible 12.
This included a hard fought draw with Manchester City on Saturday, in a match that Mark Hughes’ side were certainly not outmatched in.
It is Hughes that has instilled this belief in the side, since taking over the reigns from Tony Pulis in the summer and defender Marc Wilson believes the Staffordshire club have the resources to cause an upset at the Emirates Stadium.
“We will go down there on Sunday, be confident and give it a real go,” the 26-year-old told the club’s website.
“Whilst we know it will be difficult at Arsenal, we know that we have the players to cause them problems.
“We showed against Manchester City that we are capable of mixing it with teams of that stature, and on another day we would have won that game comfortably.”
Wilson has been enjoying playing in a different role this term, after being moved from left-back to defensive midfield following the arrival of Erik Pieters and Marc Muniesa.
It’s a role the Irishman has admitted to feeling comfortable in and Stoke have beaten Crystal Palace and West Ham United with Wilson in that position.
