Mark Hughes faces tough introduction as Stoke manager.
Newly appointed Stoke City manager Mark Hughes will start his life in charge at the Staffordshire side by taking them to Anfield for a tricky opening game of the 2013/14 Premier League season against Liverpool.
The Potters will play their first home match under Hughes against newly promoted Crystal Palace on August 24, whilst also facing Manchester City and Arsenal before September is out.
Stoke’s new boss will go back to Craven Cottage to face the team he left so unceremoniously in 2012 when the Welshman’s side take on Fulham on October 5.
Other fixtures to watch out for are Manchester United away on October 26 and Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium on December 7.
Hughes will have his work cut out if he intends to keep Stoke in the top flight for a sixth consecutive year, as the Potters struggled in 2012/13 and is still unknown how new sides Palace, Hull City and Cardiff City will fare at the top.
