Are Bayern Munich really interested in Loic Remy…?

Arsenal may face competition in the summer from last night’s Champions League semi-final losers Bayern Munich, for the signature of Loic Remy, reports the Mirror.
Pep Guardiola’s side were humiliated by Real Madrid, and forward Mario Mandzukic did nothing at all of note.
Loic Remy has enjoyed a pretty strong season with Newcastle on loan from QPR, scoring 13 Premier League goals. His form though, like the rest of the Toon squad, has dramatically tailed off since the turn of the new year, and it seems surprising that one of the best sides in Europe would be interested in a player currently owned by a Championship outfit.
Bayern have already completed a deal for superstar forward Robert Lewandowski, but could need backup for him if Mandzukic is shipped out of the club.
In what could turn out to be a remarkably interesting transfer merry-go-round, Arsenal could secure Mandzukic instead of Remy, enabling Bayern a free run at the French forward, who is rated at roughly £15m.
