The foreign based players are in the squad to face Nambia.
Kenyan strikers Dennis Oliech and Jamal Mohammed have reported to the national team ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Zambia on Sunday.
The duo have linked up with the squad at the Harambee Stars’ residential camp Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, with Ajaccio forward Oliech returning to the fold after missing the previous matches against Nigeria and Malawi due to suspension.
Head coach Adel Amrouche has been forced to defend his decision to select foreign-based players for the final Group F match, which is merely a formality as both teams failed to qualify for the tournament in Brazil next year, and insists they are targeting a win.
“We have no chance of qualifying but we’re going to play to win and we must give our best,” Amrouche told SuperSport.
“And that’s exactly why I’ve called the foreign-based players to guide and motivate the younger players. This will also help us build a team for the future.”
Other players plying their trade overseas, including Victor Wanyama, Jockins Atudo, Brian Mandela, David Ochieng and Patrick Osiako, are expected to join the camp later this week and participate in training before the Nyayo National Stadium showdown.
