Liverpool transfer news.
The 32-year-old has struggled to establish himself at Anfield ever since making a £4m return to his boyhood club from Southampton over the summer and manager Brendan Rodgers may well be open to allowing the forward to leave.
Lambert himself doesn’t really want to leave the Reds, but realises that he may have to do so in order to achieve more regular first team football, with the England international having operated generally from the bench this season.
Rodgers’ side have struggled for goals this term since the departure of Luis Suarez to FC Barcelona, with Daniel Sturridge having been out injured for most of the campaign and Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini – like Lambert – not finding any decent form.
However, Sturridge made a much welcomed return to the first team on Saturday and scored in the 2-0 victory over West Ham United to give Lambert even less chance of game time.
