Chelsea’s best player by some distance. The Brazilian worked hard, consistently beat Sunderland defenders and was the most creative player on the pitch. His teammates just couldn’t finish off his chances.

The German worked hard playing just off Samuel Eto’o, but the ball just didn’t run for him in the final third. He was one of Chelsea’s more creative influences, but he’ll still likely lose his place for next weekend’s Premier League tie.
- 29 Eto’o (Ba – 74′ ) – 6
The Cameroonian striker was ineffective, and missed a guilt-edged chance to score the Blues’ decisive second around the hour mark.
