Jorge Mendes was in England this week to have his say on two of the biggest transfers of the summer.
The super agent, whose other clients include Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho, was reportedly in Manchester finalising Nicolas Otamendi‘s £32m move from Valencia to Manchester City.
The Citizens confirmed the signing of the Argentine defender on a five-year contract this morning.

But Mendes’s main subject of interest was resolving the future of David de Gea, who has been heavily linked with Real Madrid but will not be allowed to leave on the cheap by Manchester United.
According to Spanish publication AS, Mendes has drawn up a strategy to wait until the final days of the window to seal the PFA Player of the Year runner-up his desired switch to the Bernabeu.
De Gea only has 12 months left on his Old Trafford contract, and Madrid are reportedly willing to pay the 24-year-old a £12m signing-on fee to wait until next summer to return to La Liga.
