It looks like no amount of “I’m only here so I don’t get fined” repetitions couldn’t save Marshawn Lynch from his own choice of wardrobe.
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch could be facing a fine for wearing a hat at yesterday’s Media Day that was not licensed by the NFL.

Marshawn Lynch could be subject to significant fine for wearing unauthorized “BeastMode” hat to Media Day, per @darrenrovell and I.

At Media Day, Lynch, who has gained infamy for his stubborn unwillingness to talk to reporters – or only use the same, short answers over and over again when answering questions – only appeared at yesterday’s conference for five minutes, answering each question with “I’m only here so I won’t get fined” before picking up and leaving early.
There is certainly precedent for the NFL to come down with a big penalty on Lynch. In 2007, Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher was fined $100,000 for wearing a non-permitted Vitaminwater hat at a pre-Super Bowl XLI press conference.
