The Patriots were shut out of the 3rd quarter after putting up 14 points the quarter before.
The Seahawks, on the other hand, started heating up with another huge catch by WR Chris Matthews (an early candidate for Super Bowl MVP if the score holds), which led to a successful FG by Seahawks PK Steven Hauschka.
On the following drive Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner picked off Tom Brady to give the Seahawks the ball at the 50-yard line. Six plays later the Seahawks scored another TD on a 3-yard pass from Russell Wilson to Doug Baldwin – who cleanly beat All-Pro CB Darrelle Revis.
