Smith’s claim to fame was not from anything major he did for the Seahawks in the regular season, but for his absolutely incredible defensive performance against the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. Against the Broncos he recorded 10 tackles, a fumble recovery and a 69-yard INT-TD to help seal the Seahawks’ 43-8 win to claim their first ever Super Bowl title.
But Smith was unable to crack the starting roster for the Seahawks’ Legion of Boom defense for any significant amount of time, only getting 16 starts in four seasons and recording a scarce number of big impact plays in the regular season.
