Carlton star Lachie Henderson will miss the rest of 2014 with a fractured eye socket.
Carlton utility Lachie Henderson will miss the rest of the AFL season after he fractured an eye socket against Fremantle.
The 24-year-old was one of Carlton’s best in its heartbreaking five-point loss to the Dockers last Thursday and suffered the injury at the final centre bounce at Patersons Stadium.
Scans have revealed Henderson had suffered an orbital and frontal sinus fracture that will require surgery and rule him out for 4-5 weeks.
After consultation with a specialist the decision was made for Henderson to undergo surgery in Melbourne next week.
Henderson has kicked 28 goals in 17 games this season, including a six-goal haul against North Melbourne two weeks ago.
