German has a glowing reputation on the Continent.
Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Ralf Rangnick has emerged as the new favourite to replace the recently departed David Moyes in the Goodison Park hot seat next season, according to reports in the Sun.
The experienced and highly-regarded German made a name for himself on the Continent by surprisingly managing to guide Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 all the way through to the semi-finals of the 2011 Uefa Champions League, only for them to then lose to Premier League giants Manchester United.
However, the 54-year-old was then forced to resign from his role five months later, claiming that he was suffering from exhaustion and needing to take a break from the game.
Rangnick, though, made his return in June 2012 with Salzburg and is now reportedly in line to become the next Everton head coach, despite being contracted to the Austrian giants until June 30 2015, with a final decision expected at the start of next week.
