Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett will return to training camp after being suspended for a fight during practice.
Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett made headlines recently for a training camp scuffle with rookie cornerback Kyle Fuller. Bennett had slammed him into the ground after he tried to take the ball from him by grabbing his shoulder pads.
This caused the team to suspend him, but they did not say how long the suspension would last. However, Bennett will return to the team’s practices after missing their first preseason game.
Bennett made a statement regarding his behavior. “I understand what they want from me. I feel like I could’ve handled the situation differently,” the tight end told Michael C. Wright of ESPN.
Here is a tweet from Wright quoting Bennett.

Bennett will resume his role as the starting tight end, but backup Zach Miller showed great promise against the Eagles with 62 receiving yards and two touchdown catches.
