Lions beat Bears – Detroit Lions defeat Chicago Bears, 20-14
The Detroit Lions settled for a wild-card berth in the NFC after losing their regular-season finale to the NFC North champion Green Bay Packers, 30-20.
Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who has developed a reputation as a dirty player in the past few seasons, did nothing to shed that label after he stepped on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
He stepped on the calf area that Rodgers had injured in the second quarter of that game before returning after a short rest. This clearly angered the quarterback, and the league reviewed the incident.
The Lions defense will have to face the Dallas Cowboys in their playoff opener without Suh, who has been suspended for the game. This will be a major blow to an elite defense that will have to face one of the top offenses in the NFL.
SB Nation revealed the controversial defensive tackle’s fate on Twitter.
