The Swans are hoping to add more firepower to their attack next season.
Swansea City are interested in signing experienced Wigan Athletic front man Arouna Kone for just £6.5 million this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The Ivory Coast international has only been at the DW stadium for less than a year now, having signed for the Latics from Liga outfit Levante for just £3.5m last August on a three-year deal.
And in his debut campaign in England, the 29-year-old proved himself to be an expert finisher, and this despite the fact that his club were struggling for large parts of the campaign to avoid being relegated to the Championship.
Even so, Kone still managed to hit the back of the net on 13 occasions in 38 matches in all competitions for Roberto Martinez’s men, including 11 strikes in his 34 Premier League contests for the club.
As a result, the Swans are now hoping to take advantage of Wigan’s relegation from the top flight to activate the striker’s £6.5m release clause in his contract to bring Kone to South Wales this summer.
