Kennedy was given an infraction notice on Wednesday for alleged anti-doping violations under the NRL’s Anti-Doping policy.
An NRL statement read: “The NRL has provisionally suspended Sydney Roosters player Martin Kennedy.
“This follows him being issued with a Notice of Alleged Anti-Doping Rule Violations under the NRL’s Anti-Doping Policy on Wednesday.
“The Notice alleged that Mr Kennedy breached the Policy through the possession and attempted use of banned substances.
“The matter will now proceed to the NRL’s Anti-Doping Tribunal and the NRL will not be making further comment while this process is under way.”
According to AAP, Kennedy is expected to challenge the allegations.
If found guilty, Kennedy faces a two-year ban under the WADA and ASADA anti-doping codes.
