News worse than first feared for former Brownlow medalist.
Sydney Swans superstar Adam Goodes will be on the sideline for a further six weeks after the club revealed his injury was worse than first feared.
Goodes picked up the injury a fortnight ago in his side’s win over Port Adelaide, with further scans showing he is at least another month-and-a-half away from rejoining the side.
Sydney coach John Longmire said Goodes will need to have minor surgery to remove problematic cartilage which is slowing his recovery.
Thanks for the support peeps 6 weeks is not long I missed that much last year. Where is somewhere nice and warm this time of year?

“Throughout his long career, Adam has shown an amazing ability to manage his body and recover from injuries,” Longmire said.
“He is obviously a great player and we look forward to him returning and playing a valuable role for us later in the year.
“On the positive side, we have introduced a number of new players to the team already this season, including five debutants, and to see them stand up when given their opportunity has been fantastic.”
