Lance Franklin v. Scott Thompson
When these two sides met way back in round four, Thompson kept Franklin to just 13 touches and a solitary behind for the entire match.
Thompson on the other hand produced 24 touches, nine rebound 50’s and seven marks as well as regularly cutting off the supply to the Swans’ star forward.
Friday’s match will be a whole different beast however, with Franklin going on to win the Coleman Medal and there’s no doubt he is now well-adjusted at the Swans.
Franklin will receive much better supply than he did in the mud and wet of round four and with two premierships to his name, Franklin knows how to stand up in the big games.
Thompson will have his work cut out here.
Luke Parker v. Ben Cunnington
The truth is that these two probably won’t match up against one another, but the performance of each player will more than likely mirror that of each of their sides.
These two players will be key within the stoppages and their clearance work will go along way in deciding their respective teams’ fortunes.
Both Parker and Cunnington are hugely influential and have a knack for stepping up when their sides need them most.
And they’ll need them tonight.
