The Orange will also have 108 wins vacated, dropping Boeheim from second to sixth on the all-time wins list. They will also have 12 scholarships docked over the next four years.
Syracuse was caught playing ineligible players, who reportedly violated the academic code while failing to follow the drug-testing policy and receiving extra benefits.
This punishment will begin when conference play in the 2015-16 season begins, and Syracuse will also receive five years of probation.
