Azlan Johar will assist Che Ku Marzuki next season.
Malaysian Super League side T-Team have taken the extraordinary step of appointing football pundit Azlan Johar as assistant coach.
The Titans have moved to strengthen their coaching staff ahead of the 2014 season after finishing 10th last term and have enlisted the help of the former Malayan Tigers international to assist head coach Che Ku Marzuki.
He is well known to the public having played for Selangor and Johor Darul Takzim in the 1970’s and 80’s, before becoming a regular on the panel at Astro Arena in recent years.
Azlan’s only previous coaching experience came at KL Malay Mail team in 2004 and despite being out of the game for a decade he says the challenge that lies ahead at the Terengganu-based side is an exciting one.
“I would like to thank the T-Team management for trusting me with this position,” Azlan told Utusan Malaysia.
“Terengganu is not foreign to me. In fact its more like my second home, as I spend a lot of time there as well as the fact that I used to play there back in the days.”
“I hope I can do my best for T-Team and my aim is to get T-Team to produce plenty of young and good players.
