Arsenal have reportedly been holding talks with Fernando Llorente‘s agent over the last few days in the hope of securing the services of the Juventus striker.
Llorente is expected to leave Turin this summer after the Serie A champions made the double signing of Pablo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic to boost their forward ranks.
The 30-year-old has been linked with Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Italian publication Tuttosport suggests that the Gunners are in pole position.
Arsene Wenger is looking for a new centre forward and apparently sees the towering Spaniard as a cut-price alternative to Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, who is thought to be his top target.
Llorente scored 27 goals in 89 appearances across two season at Juventus, helping the Old Lady to successive Serie A titles and last season’s Champions League final.
