His rape allegations that date back to his Florida State days continue to follow him though, but he has officially acted against Erica Kinsman, his accuser.
Winston has filed a counterclaim against Kinsman, claiming that she tarnished his reputation, and the suit is asking for damages that are worth over $75,000.
The Buccaneers quarterback was recently sued formally by Kinsman, and it did not take long for him to fire back with a lawsuit of his own.
Although the Buccaneers have potentially found their quarterback of the future, Winston’s court drama will undoubtedly serve as a distraction to them in their offseason.
It remains to be seen whether this court case can be settled by the start of the 2015 NFL season and if Winston will ultimately be found guilty of these rape charges.
