Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin sustained a minor knee injury in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers after being held to nine yards on nine carries.
Martin has been nursing his injury since, and he sat out Week 2 as Bobby Rainey stepped in as the starting running back. The Buccaneers are expected to sit him out again since they have to play on Thursday.
This will also give Martin 10 days to rest and return fully healthy for Week 4. However, the Buccaneers may still opt to use him in a reduced role.
Here is a tweet from CBS NFL insider Jason La Canfora reporting on Martin’s injury update.
Good chance Doug Martin does not even dress for the Bucs tonite. Even if he does, not much expectation of him being involved
