The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell to 1-6 with an overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and their offense continued to struggle with Mike Glennon as their starting quarterback.
However, their offense also performed awfully with Josh McCown as the starter early in the season. McCown was benched due to a thumb injury that he sustained in a loss to the Atlanta Falcons, and Glennon has been the starter since.
Glennon was able to lead the Buccaneers to their first win of the season, but he has been underwhelming overall. However, head coach Lovie Smith stated that Glennon will remain the starter even with McCown healthy.
The Buccaneers’ second-year quarterback may find life in the Buccaneers offense even more difficult since wide receiver Vincent Jackson in rumored to be on the trading block, and running back Doug Martin has become the subject of these rumors as well.
It remains to be seen whether the Buccaneers offense can recover, and their defense has done them no favors either.
