The Tampa Bay Buccaneers achieved their first win of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, thanks to the clutch play of quarterback Mike Glennon.
Although his performance was somewhat shaky, Glennon threw the game-winning touchdown pass to wide receiver Vincent Jackson with seven seconds remaining to stun the Steelers.
The Buccaneers had started 0-3 with Josh McCown as the starting quarterback, and Glennon has given the offense life after it sputtered with McCown.
However, head coach Lovie Smith will not commit to a starting quarterback. McCown is still nursing a hand injury, so the Buccaneers will likely go into Week 5 with Glennon as the starter.
McCown may win back the starting job if Glennon isn’t able to impress the coaching staff enough. Here is a tweet from Buccaneers writer Rick Stroud releasing Smith’s statement on the team’s quarterback situation.
#Bucs coach Lovie Smith wouldn’t say who will start at QB when Josh McCown is healthy. Will go with whomever gives them best chance to win
