The 45th annual Pro Bowl has come to a close, and Team Irvin defeated Team Carter, 32-28, after rallying from a nine-point deficit.
Hall of Fame wide receivers Michael Irvin and Cris Carter each drafted Pro Bowl selections who were voted in by fans to be on their teams in a schoolyard pick.
After Team Carter took a 28-19 lead in the third quarter, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan took over and threw two touchdown passes.
He made his second one count as it turned out to be the game winner with just over three minutes remaining.
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate also shined for Team Irvin by making big plays.
Tate finished with two catches for 98 yards, and Beckham added five receptions for 89 yards. Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil led the charge on defense with two sacks.
Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes shut down his opponents and broke up multiple crucial passes.
For Team Carter, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt came up with an interception. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck shined in his start with 119 yards and two touchdown passes on 9-of-10 passing.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown led all receivers with six catches for 98 yards while Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen caught three passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns.
Watt was named defensive MVP for the game while Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford earned offensive MVP honors.
