1) Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich)
A player in the news for his diving again this week, Bayern Munich and Netherlands winger Arjen Robben is arguably the worst culprit in the game for his play-acting at the moment. The former Chelsea man has always been regarded as a fine attacking midfield player throughout his career, but has never been one to capture the hearts of neutral fans with the way he conducts himself on the pitch. Most recently, the 30-year-old went down far too easily to win a stoppage time penalty for his country in their late comeback win over Mexico in the World Cup, later admitting that he’d dived throughout the game. If Holland do go on to win the competition in Brazil, it will no doubt be marred by Robben’s antics, and one can only hope he doesn’t do it again at a crucial moment in the competition, or that referees become a bit wiser to it.
