6. Weak pass rush
One sack. That’s the extent of the impactful pass rush the Seahawks defense was able to get on QB Tom Brady. As a direct result, Brady was able to complete 74% of his passes – one of the highest completion rates the Legion of Boom has ever allowed.
For a defense that has made being dominant in coverage a precursor for great pass rush, the Seahawks were simply unable to get to Tom Brady even when they finally did manage to get Brady out of dink-and-dunk mode.
5. Fourth quarter drops
There were several key drops in the fourth quarter that likely would have helped seal a win for the Seahawks – or at the very least put them in a much better position to extend some drives and give Brady less time to mount a comeback.
When you have a passing attack that is already one of the few weaknesses on the team, it is inexcusable for those receivers to drop passes – and those two drops may have been the 2nd and 3rd worst plays of the entire game for Seattle.
