7) Fabian Schar – Basel 

The Swiss centre-back is tall, powerful, and looks to have all the characteristics of a seriously good centre-back. Arsenal were linked with him back in November, but never made a move. Thomas Vermaelen is likely to leave in the summer though, so Schar could come in as adequate backup to Laurent Kocielny and Per Mertesacker.
