6) Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli)
One of the most talked about players of last summer’s transfer window, Gonzalo Higuain looks set to make the headlines again this year after enjoying a superb debut season in Serie A with Napoli. The former Real Madrid front-man has adapted well to life in a new league, scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions for Rafael Benitez’s side to spark rumoured interest from La Liga giants Barcelona. In something of a controversial move given his Real Madrid connections, Higuain could become one of the most expensive transfers of all time as Napoli are reportedly holding out for an offer as big as £55m to consider letting him leave the Stadio San Paolo. Higuain himself has admitted he would be keen to play alongside his fellow countryman Lionel Messi, however, and could force through a move. There has been talk of renewed interest from Arsenal, though they seem likely to miss out on the Argentine again.
