1) Iker Casillas (Spain – 155 caps)
The prize for most capped player at the 2014 World Cup goes to Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who is also the joint 11th most capped footballer of all time in the men’s game. Still only 33, the Spaniard has been the first choice for his country since the 2002 World Cup and has since gone on to captain the team to unprecedented success with victories at Euro 2008 and 2012 and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa sandwiched in-between. Casillas is also the most capped player in the history of the Spanish national team, and will need to up his game now after enduring something of a nightmare in his side’s opening game as he let in five goals in a crushing defeat to the Netherlands.
