1) Diego Costa (Spain)
After a superb season with Atletico Madrid, Diego Costa has looked almost a different player for Spain at this summer’s World Cup, with injury problems perhaps weighing down on him. The 25-year-old, who scored 36 goals to fire his club side to a superb title win in La Liga, has not yet registered a single shot on target in Brazil, continuing his country’s run of rotten bad luck with strikers in recent times. With a £32m move to Chelsea imminent, the Blues will be hoping they’ve not signed another Fernando Torres, based on evidence at this competition.
