9) Fred (Brazil)
A player who divides opinion, but one who should be doing better for Brazil after making himself first choice upfront with some good goalscoring displays at last summer’s Confederations Cup. The 30-year-old Fluminese man is yet to get off the mark this year and has looked a little sluggish and off the pace, leading to calls for him to be dropped. It is certainly something of a surprise that a footballing nation as great as Brazil can’t find a more recognised striker playing for a big European club to start upfront for them, but even so, Fred should be doing better with the service he’s getting from the likes of Neymar and co. around him.
