6) Jordan Henderson (England)

After such an improved season for Liverpool this year, much was expected of midfielder Jordan Henderson as he established himself as first choice to partner his club colleague Steven Gerrard in the middle of the park for Roy Hodgson’s side. Sadly, however, the Liverpool connection didn’t really pay off as Henderson looked quite below-par in both of England’s games, not justifying his selection ahead of the likes of Frank Lampard, Jack Wilshere or Ross Barkley who could surely have done better.
