5) Iker Casillas (Spain)
A legend of the modern game, but one who may now be past his best after this latest showing at the 2014 World Cup. Despite winning his place in the Real Madrid team back towards the end of this season, Iker Casillas has had a bad tournament for Spain, conceding five goals in the opening match against the Netherlands, and then looking suspect in their 2-0 defeat to Chile as well. Gone are the days when the Spanish skipper was seen as a safe pair of hands, and he now looks likely to be axed from the side in the near future as several of this under-performing squad make way for a new generation to try and repeat their tremendous success of 2008 to 2012.
