2) Wayne Rooney (England)
Wayne Rooney has finally managed to score his first goal at a World Cup finals, tapping home what looked like being a crucial equaliser against Uruguay, but overall his performances have not quite been good enough again. The Manchester United man looked out of sorts in an unfamiliar wide role in England’s first game against Italy, and then proceeded to miss a number of good chances when played upfront in the next match with Uruguay. Many United fans feel he may be past his best now, and it could be questioned if he still deserves to be a key player for England after failing to really provide the goods at a major tournament again.
