3) Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich)
Always a rather cocky-seeming character, former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben is becoming more and more of a hate figure among neutral fans at this summer’s World Cup alone, with his repeated diving antics and gamesmanship on the pitch. Undoubtedly one of the best attacking players in the world, Robben has been in superb form for club and country in recent years, but there’s no doubt he comes across as a highly dislikeable character on the pitch, with his selfish play and tendency to try and do everything himself also looking incredibly frustrating for his team-mates.
