The German midfielder is wonderfully elegant, and a ludicrously good passer – but still hasn’t been able to agree a contract extension with the Champions League holders. United badly want to improve their struggling midfield, and are willing to spend astronomically to do so. Kroos could well be the man to revitalise their on pitch fortunes.
