Ander Herrera (Manchester United)
Manchester United’s first huge summer signings was that of Ander Herrera, with the Spanish midfielder penning a four-year contract at Old Trafford after signing from La Liga club Athletic Bilbao.
Central midfielder was an area of the pitch where United fell behind their Premier League rivals last season and it will be fascinating to see whether the highly-rated Herrera can begin to redress the balance.
Daryl Janmaat (Newcastle United)
Newcastle United signed Dutch right back Daryl Janmaat to replace Mathieu Debuchy on the back of a fine World Cup campaign with the Netherlands, and it will be interesting to see whether he can replicate those performances and become the latest impressive European find for the Magpies.
Janmaat played the right wing-back role for Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands team in Brazil and was largely impressive, despite being in-and-out of the team on account of van Gaal’s rotation system.
